To get started, all you need is a pair of running shoes, a flat 20 meter running pitch, a modicum of enthusiasm, and this app.
It's important to note that this app is not GPS-enabled; instead, it serves as a timer app specifically designed for conducting the beep test.
Simple, non-intrusive, and highly accurate, this app offers several useful features:
- Prompting you with beeps or ringtones of your choice
- Displaying seconds to the next beep and next level
- Showing your distance covered so far (including shuttles) and time elapsed
- Allowing for a 15m or 20m lap
- Offering an autostop feature
Once you're done, the app provides estimates for your VO2_Max and calorie consumption. These metrics can be used to:
- Gauge your progress and compare your fitness level to that of the general population
- Help you chart your progress over time
